Complex lymphatic anomalies (CLA)
Complex lymphatic anomalies (CLA) consist of the four related conditions that are caused by gene mutations resulting in malfunctions in the body’s lymphatic system. CLAs are chronic and debilitating conditions that can be fatal. These conditions can affect children and adults. Treatments for CLA can vary from patient to patient, and most are aimed at easing symptoms.
Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA)
Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is one of the four conditions that falls under CLA. This condition usually occurs in children and young adults and can cause fluid around the lungs or heart. Breathing difficulties and bleeding are common.
The latest on our research
We are jumpstarting our KLA program in partnership with the Lymphangiomatosis & Gorham’s Disease Alliance to accelerate research for the condition. We welcome all patients, caregivers and researchers interested in participating and spreading the word to the KLA community.
