Patterns of medication use in patients with rare Mendelian pediatric epilepsies

Understanding medication efficacy is crucial for effective care, but medication patterns for patients with rare Mendelian epilepsy conditions are currently not well understood. Here, we used our real-world data (RWD) platform to explore medication patterns for patients with CDKL5 deficiency disorder (CDD), SLC6A1 epileptic encephalopathy, and SURF1 deficiency disorder. Our results highlight the challenges faced by caregivers and providers in managing seizures in these conditions and the promise of RWD for investigating treatment effectiveness in rare epilepsies.
