Crigler-Najjar syndrome type 1

Crigler-Najjar syndrome is a very rare genetic disorder caused by the deficiency of a specific enzyme responsible for breaking down bilirubin. Individuals with Crigler-Najjar syndrome exhibit jaundice (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes).
